Summer flow at Elowah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.
I’ve always loved watching water grace the rocks below this waterfall. When the flow is low in the summer you kind of get a gentle glazing, almost as if the water is dancing with the rock as opposed to the thunderous and powerful crashing of higher flow.
I decided to take this one in a contrasty direction so that the water would be the focus of the photo. I gave the water a cyan hue because I felt like it and liked the way it gave it a silvery look. The shape of the rocks on the bottom of the frame are a supporting element for me and if you spend enough time with the photo you’ll also notice the moss covered rocks in the background.
